If you’re spending a lot more time at home these days, it can be a challenge to keep the kids busy. We’ve got you covered with some ideas and inspiration for your next indoor activity.
Bring a new sense of exploration to the indoors with a scavenger hunt. Riddle clues add a bit of mystery to the fun and can make it last longer. While you’re hunting for treasure in the house, might as well bring the whole playground indoors. It’s simple to create a fort or obstacle course that’ll keep the kids entertained for hours with the furniture and items you already have. Happy imagining!
There’s no time like now to try out new recipes, and it’s the perfect excuse to get your little ones involved in the kitchen. Find some easy, kid-friendly recipes like this French bread pesto chicken pizza or crispy oven-baked chicken tenders and let them in on the secret to your family’s special chocolate chip cookies. Then kick the fun up a notch with an indoor picnic. Pack a meal, set up a blanket and enjoy your culinary creations on the living room floor.
If downtime is what you’re looking for, try breaking out a puzzle and playing cards or a board game. Plus, it’s always fun to take a trip down memory lane. Show your little ones old family photos albums or introduce them to your favorite books, movies and games from when you were their age. If that’s all been said and done, why not have the kids create their own stories and videos to share with the family?
Check out some more indoor activity ideas here to pass the time. There’s bound to be something excited you haven’t given a go at your Tracy Hills home yet!

Tracy Hills proudly grand opened its Welcome Center/Residents Club at the recent ribbon-cutting and street dedication event. Guests had the opportunity to view the new resort-style clubhouse with a large, refreshing pool, convenient multi-purpose room, outdoor recreation area and spacious lawn area.
The festivities also included a street dedication. A heartfelt tribute and words from local project manager Mike Souza of Integral Communities who was on hand to unveil street signs named in memory of three beloved local heroes and Tracy residents: Criseldo Mina, Fire Captain Daniel Havicus and Marine Lance Cpl. Lenin Priego Zurita.
Tracy Fire Department officials came out in full force to the dedication, along with the families of the honorees, Tracy Chamber representatives and many local residents.
Among those on hand to acknowledge the honor were Fire Chief Randy Bradley who accepted the sign on behalf of Captain Daniel Havicus; Criseldo Mina’s wife; and Lance Corporal Lenin Priego Zurita’s sign was accepted by his mother and brother.
Of course, we loved being there because we had the chance to show off this new and pretty incredible master-planned community of Tracy Hills.
But we love honoring our local heroes even more. And what better way to do that than by keeping their names and memories alive on the streets we drive every day.
Thank you to all who joined us for this momentous day. And when you have a chance, swing by to say hello. Our Welcome Center/Residents Club is located at 2230 Criseldo Mina Ave., in Tracy, Ca.

So, how to describe Tracy Hills? Well, we like to think of it as a rich tapestry of beautiful one and two-story homes with villages nestled among winding trails, children play areas and scenic open park space.
Did we mention there are lots of opportunities for fun and learning and growth? That looks like an exciting offering of great schools, nearby festivals and fairs, shopping, dining and events, along with the historic charm of downtown Tracy.
And for those seeking quick access to jobs and commerce, residents will enjoy easy 580 Freeway access and only 3 miles from the Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) station with connections to numerous major employment hubs and job centers in the Tri-Valley and Silicon Valley areas.
There are many things that residents will love about the future master-planned community of Tracy Hills. Beautiful homes, thriving commerce and bustling parks and walkways are just a few of those things.
Here’s another to add to the list – great schools. And it all begins with the future Corral Hollow Elementary School, a K-8 campus that is planned to start construction in 2021. The walkable, open-air campus will serve as a vital hub for Tracy Hills families as they come together to establish a lifelong foundation of growth and learning for their children.
Part of Jefferson School District, Corral Hollow Elementary students will enjoy plenty of advantages with such opportunities as the Gifted and Talented Education Program (GATE) that allows students to pursue achievement as fully engaged and independent learners. Students can also expect to take part in statewide academic and sports competitions that instill the drive to succeed in all things educational.
As Tracy Hills kids grow, their opportunities continue to expand at Kimball High School, where state-of-the-art technology serves as the keystone for propelling students into a new, exciting realm of learning. The high school environment (grades 9-12) allows students to fully immerse themselves into a broad and diverse mix of interests – both competitive sports and academic student-centered clubs in order to reach their fullest potential.
Indeed, great schools and sky’s-the-limit educational opportunities are just another wonderful reason to settle into life at Tracy Hills.
It’s going to be a must-see event when Integral Communities, the developer of the Tracy Hills master-planned community, swings open its doors for a “sneak peek” Preview Opening from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 16.
The preview promises to be a fun-filled day with music and on-site food trucks featuring the tasty culinary creations of Steel Smokin BBQ, Street Steam Bunz, Haley McNicoll’s Celtic-American Eatery, and izzyA’s Frozen Ice Cream Custard.
Visitors are encouraged to bring the kids, too. There will be face-painters, magicians and balloon artists for a truly “magical” day that will engage the whole family.
Best of all, future Tracy Hills residents will be treated to an introductory look at 30 different floor plans from such renowned homebuilders as Lennar, Meritage Homes and Shea Homes. For those who wish to fully immerse themselves in the Tracy Hills experience, Meritage Homes will even have model homes open for tours.
And representatives from Shea Homes and Lennar will be available to talk and walk attendees through floor plan and architectural renderings. The first phase at Tracy Hills will eventually include a total of 1,139 homes in eight separate villages.
We’re pretty excited about this preview day because it’s the first and biggest opportunity we have had to share all the great things about the 5,411-acre community of Tracy Hills that future residents are going to LOVE!
Things like amazing schools, including the soon-to-be-built K-8 Corral Hollow Elementary School; 45 acres dedicated to neighborhood parks, plus one dog park; 30 acres of community parks; a community clubhouse and a pool.
